Every day, hundreds of students, parents, and staff make their way to Epsom Primary School via Howard Street. However, the lack of adequate safety measures on this street poses a significant risk to the community, especially the young children who navigate this route daily.

Howard Street is a vital thoroughfare for Epsom residents and is increasingly becoming a busy artery due to the growth of the area. Howard Street is a designated truck route with numerous trucks accessing the road daily. How many near misses or worse, a tragedy, will it take for this issue to be rectified?

We are petitioning for government bodies to secure off street parking along Howard Street or come up with a safer alternative to ensure the safety of the students and their families. Epsom Primary School Parent Council urge both the school and local community to take immediate action and to voice your concern regarding this issue. 

Ensuring the safety of our children is a responsibility we all share. By putting these measures into place, we can protect young lives and offer peace of mind to parents, knowing that their children are safe on their journey to school.
