I am a firm believer in the power of technology. It is the application of scientific knowledge to achieve practical ends, from highly advanced things like computers to simple things like hammers and wheels. We are surrounded by technology in our lives, and most of us wouldn't even know how to operate without it.

However, not everyone has equal access or understanding of these tools that have become so integral to our daily lives. According to Pew Research Center, as of 2019, 10% of U.S adults do not use the internet due to factors such as age, income level or education level (Pew Research Center). This digital divide can lead to significant disadvantages in today's increasingly connected world.

We need policies that promote digital literacy and ensure all individuals have access to necessary technological tools regardless of their socio-economic status. By doing so we can help bridge this gap and create a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to benefit from technological advancements.
