Enforce strict operating hours for Concrete Batching Plant

Enforce strict operating hours for Concrete Batching Plant

The issue

Every day, we face the distressing consequences of the concrete batching plant operating around the clock. Our health and mental wellbeing are under siege from incessant dust filling our lungs and relentless noise invading our homes. We ask ourselves—where is the peace of mind that everyone deserves in their own sanctuary?

The lack of enforced operating hours and absence of a buffer zone escalates stress amongst us residents. It’s high time this plant adheres to strict working hours of 6.30am - 6.30pm Monday -Friday,  and Industrial activities without a special condition of an approval is prohibited. No audible noise between the hours of midnight and 7 am allowing us some respite. We demand the Re-establishment of the buffer zone to guard against excessive dust and noise, effectively protecting the wellbeing of all residents.

Our plight is backed by legitimate concerns. Studies highlight that constant exposure to air pollutants can lead to chronic respiratory issues and elevate stress levels. We cannot stand by and let our families and homes be compromised any longer.

Moreover, the local council meeting outcome was disappointing, failing to address these pressing issues adequately. It is crucial now, more than ever, to stand united and urge the council to operate in our best interest, and enforce regulations for this facility that prioritize health and tranquility.

Endless operation without restraint is not the solution. Reinstating the buffer zone and implementing strict operating hours can lead to the rightful balance between industrial activity and residential welfare. Join us in this critical endeavour to reclaim our rights to clean air and quiet surroundings.

Sign this petition to demand that the council act responsibly by reinstating the buffer zone and enforcing strict operating hours for the concrete batching plant. Let us stand together for a healthier, calmer environment for all.
