The Issue

I, among many other residents of Adarsh Palm Retreat in Devarabeesanahalli, have been enduring sleepless nights due to illegal overnight construction by Brookfield Developers and Shapoonjee Palonjee. This recurring encroachment is not just a nuisance but a blatant violation of Bangalore's Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) rules and national noise pollution laws. Families, including the elderly and children, are subjected to this unbearable disturbance, clearly in violation of their rights to health and wellbeing.

This construction mayhem is not new - it started even before the Covid-19 pandemic, with Adarsh desecrating a building, then RMZ commencing construction, and now Brookfield taking over, orchestrating an endless cycle of anxiety and disturbance. It's high time authorities heed our call for help and enforce strict legal actions against these recurring violations. Calling the police in the night has also not heeded any results.

As residents, we are within our legal, ethical, and moral right to demand the enforcement of rightful laws meant to safeguard our peaceful livelihoods. We call upon the concerned authorities to promptly address our genuine concerns, implement the necessary penalties against the developers found violating the rules, and protect residential neighbourhoods from such illegal activities. We urge all those who value the right to peaceful living to sign and support our petition.
