End the Euthanization of Animals at Las Vegas Adoption Center

The Issue

I am an animal lover, and it deeply saddens me to see that perfectly healthy and joyful animals are being euthanized at the animal foundation in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a place that is supposed to be a safe haven for animals, offering them a chance at life by finding them loving homes. However, it seems that if these innocent creatures do not find a family quickly enough, they are put down.

This practice is not only heartbreaking but also unnecessary. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), around 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year - out of which approximately 1.5 million are euthanized (ASPCA). These numbers include many healthy or treatable pets who could have been adopted into new homes.

The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas should focus on promoting adoption and implementing no-kill policies instead of resorting to euthanasia as a solution for overpopulation or lack of immediate adoption prospects.

An article that came out in December of 2023 stated because they are low and had too many dogs QUOTE “The animal foundation began the year euthanizing almost twice as many dogs as the previous year. By October the shelter reported dog euthanasia was up 47% from last year.”

where they state a lot of more interesting facts about the animal foundation.

Let's urge this foundation to stop this cruel practice and give these precious beings another chance at life - because every life matters! Please sign and share this petition today; together we can make a difference!
