Carolyn Goodman is an American politician and anthropologist who served as the mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada, from 2011 until 2024. She became the second female mayor of the city, following in the footsteps of her husband, Oscar Goodman, a former mayor and attorney. Carolyn is a prominent figure in education, having founded The Meadows School, where she also served as president and trustee emerita. Throughout her political career, she was known for her dedication to the development and prosperity of Las Vegas. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party. In addition to her mayoral duties, she served as a Las Vegas City Council member starting in 2011, contributing significantly to local governance and community initiatives.
