Hello Friends, I need your help

As some of you have heard, my native country Ethiopia is embroiled in a civil war. The Ethiopian PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed, who in 2019 won the Nobel Peace Prize, has declared war against his own citizens- the people of Tigray. The people of Tigray are being subjected to airstrikes and bombings while having no access to electricity, phone lines or internet. Banks have been shut down. Travel has been blocked, and they have no access to fuel. I have not been able to reach my family in over a week. I am concerned for their safety and cannot imagine the fear and terror they are currently living through.

Because of this dire situation I am reaching out to the international community and human rights groups to intervene. The goal of this petition is to initiate peace talks among the political parties in Ethiopia in hopes of sparing civilian lives. We hope to achieve an end to the current blackout in Tigray Region as well as continue the de-escalation of the conflict.
