Securly is blocking and monitoring everything on the Chromebook including harmless websites. Join our petition, we recommend you sign this to get rid of Securly at school. IT'S EITHER ACT NOW OR NO MORE PRIVACY. Securly needs to be deleted for our Chromebooks. Remember those fifth-grade projects we did where we made a google site? BLOCKED! Do you know why? Because there were other google sites with games on them. It’s unfair to ruin our projects when most of us did nothing wrong. There are other better-filtering apps. “Securly gets good people in trouble for no reason. It invades our privacy and our business!” said Fiona Edelman a signer of my petition. “Securly has been forcing me and many poor others being forced [sic] to use this trash app.” said Hannah Ridley a signer of a similar petition called “I want all illegal web filters to be banned in The United States Of America.” Instead of having Securly we could have harsher punishments for getting caught playing games in class. A lot of things that would be used for education purposes are now blocked. Did you know that Securely, can record your screen, and access your mic and camera without the student's consent or even knowledge that it's happening? I almost got detention because of a tab opened from a previous class. The teacher locked my screen which caused me to be unable to do my work. Another reason is, different teachers have different rules about Securly. In most of my classes when the period starts Securly automatically closes all of my tabs. If I had something I was finishing up on and all of a sudden my tabs close there is a chance whatever I was working on will not save.  Not having that feature would save a lot of time because when I enter my next class I usually have the tabs I need already open. Ninety percent of the sites securely blocked aren’t even that bad. It claims that the sites that it blocks are “pornography ” “hateful “ and “violent “ that is what they say about games like slope where you just try to avoid falling by or running into obstacles. Another petition called "End Securly, More student privacy!" has 2,171 supporters. So join me and the thousands of other signers of petitions similar to this and together we will STOP SECURLY. P.s. Even their name is spelled wrong.
