Dear Congress,

You may have heard of these so called "web filter apps" many of which are perfectly legal but there are a couple that are just downright illegal one of these illegal web filtering apps is called Securly for Chromebooks. Now right about know you might be asking "Why is it illegal?" I'll tell you why its illegal, it is illegal because it allows the person who has control of it to be able to listen through your microphone on your computer, it has also been said to be able to change passwords on social media websites, and has been used to illegally record/capture videos through the device it has been downloaded onto, it also tracks where you are whenever you have internet access. Now I will tell you about a web filter app that does its job perfectly is called Anti-Social now as far as I know it hasn't been said to be able to do any of the things that Securly is able to do which therefore makes it completely legal to use. I used to have proof of Securly being able to access your microphone but when my school district found out that I had gotten proof that would be enough to put Securly away for good, they confiscated my computer and they haven't let me have one since. Even large school districts don't want you to know that they use illegal apps at their schools. There are over 4.6 million poor souls who have Securly downloaded on their device. I would say that roughly 4.25 million of these souls are being forced into using Securly by their school districts. But the worst part about this is that these districts downloaded this app knowing full well what can be done with it. How do they know this? Have you ever checked the reviews for any app? (Because I do all the time). The reviews for Securly tell you how bad it is for the learning environment it blocks educational videos, websites, and even has blocked school websites at my school. It is a complete distraction to the learning environment. This is why it needs to be illegal to use.
