The Issue

"Noise pollution is not just an inconvenience. It's a silent killer affecting millions of lives across India every single day. From relentless honking to construction work that never ends, the sound levels in our cities have reached intolerable levels, and it’s destroying our health, our peace, and our quality of life. It’s time we stop pretending it’s not a problem. This needs to be addressed NOW."

The Brutal Truth:
Unseen Health Crisis: Noise pollution is wreaking havoc on public health. Chronic exposure to loud noise can lead to hearing loss, sleep deprivation, anxiety, stress, and cardiovascular diseases. It’s not just an annoyance – it’s a public health crisis. And yet, we continue to live in these toxic soundscapes with no meaningful change.

Failure of Enforcement: India has laws in place – the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 – but these are ignored, under-enforced, and broken daily. Local authorities turn a blind eye, letting citizens suffer. The so-called "restrictions" on noise during festivals, construction, and traffic are ignored in broad daylight.

Crushing Our Mental Health: We’re drowning in noise, and it’s destroying us. Children can’t concentrate, the elderly are constantly stressed, and anyone who seeks a moment of peace is out of luck. The mental toll this takes is massive – yet we continue to do nothing.

Environmental Devastation: The impacts are not just on humans – wildlife is being displaced, animals are disturbed, and our natural habitats are under attack by the constant barrage of noise. The earth is crying for peace, but we keep ignoring it.

The Harsh Reality:
Every honk on the road is a direct attack on our health.
Every festival blast shakes our sanity, disrupts our sleep, and puts our lives at risk.

Every construction site is a daily reminder that we live in an environment where noise is prioritized over life.
We Can’t Ignore This Any Longer.

The Demands:
Immediate and Brutal Enforcement of Laws: If the government cannot enforce laws meant to protect the people, then they have failed us. Enough leniency. Penalize offenders who exceed noise limits, and impose harsh penalties.

Zero Tolerance for Noise in Public Spaces: Ban loudspeakers, construction noise, and unnecessary honking. Disrupting public peace should no longer be tolerated, period.

Real-time Noise Monitoring and Reporting: Set up noise detection systems in cities to measure noise levels and fine offenders on the spot. No more excuses.

Raise Awareness and Education: It’s time to wake up and recognize noise pollution for what it is: a deadly, avoidable epidemic. We need campaigns to make people realize that their noise is harming others.

"This is a call for action. We are DONE living in a noisy, unsafe environment. The government needs to take action NOW before more lives are ruined, before more health crises are created, before we continue to destroy our peace of mind.

If you believe in a world where people’s health and peace matter, then sign this petition and demand the government put an end to noise pollution."
