The Issue

I am personally moved to act against the heart-wrenching conditions endured by the people of Congo, particularly children as young as six, who are forced into labor in mineral mines. These innocent lives are stripped of their basic rights - to education, nourishment, restful sleep - all for the extraction of minerals that serve to enrich global organizations while leaving Congolese communities impoverished and suffering. The physical abuse inflicted upon men, women and children is a gross violation of human rights that must be halted immediately.

Over 6 million lives have been lost due to these horrid conditions. The wealth generated from Congo's rich mineral resources should not come at such a devastating cost. It is unjust that harvested minerals leave the country only to provide comfort elsewhere while native Congolese people continue to suffer daily.

This petition calls on world leaders to intervene urgently and ensure freedom for the people of Congo from these deplorable conditions. We demand an end to child labor in mines and insist on equitable distribution of wealth generated from Congo's natural resources so that every citizen can pursue happiness without fear or hardship.

We cannot continue turning a blind eye towards such blatant violation of human rights for our own comfort. It's time we raise our voices against this atrocity happening right under our noses.

The people of Congo deserve equity, happiness, safety, and freedom from physical abuse – basic human rights that should be non-negotiable regardless of where one resides or works.

It is time we stand up for justice; it is time we stand up for Congo. Sign this petition today if you believe no one should lose their life or dignity for the comfort of the wealthy!
