I personally stopped using SnapChat years ago because of the Stories/Discovery page that extended far beyond your friends list, and was not able to be deactivated. 

My child just turned 13 and wanted SnapChat like "all their friends". Upon parental investigation, very lackluster parental controls have been enacted, but there is still no way to completely disable the discovery page. I've attached some screenshots of the stories that were on the front page of a 13-year-old's discovery page upon first making the account. 

Yesterday a 12 year old kid, today see below. It's disgusting. And we should have the option to shut it off for young participants on the platform. 

I've sent emails and requests to SnapChat, to be told they would pass the message along. I've visited countless online bulletins that desire with serious frustration the ability to deactivate the entire SnapChat Discovery Page. This complaint has been around for years, and now that it puts dangerous and damaging ideas, thoughts and images into the hands of our children, it's time for a change.
