Empower Doctors to Prescribe ADHD Medication for Children on Waiting Lists

The Issue

My son has been stuck in limbo for six years. At the age of 5 years and 6 months, he underwent a three-hour assessment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Had he been just six months older, he would have received a formal diagnosis and the appropriate medication. Instead, due to our change in location, we've spent half a decade waiting for him to be reassessed.

This is not an isolated case. Thousands of children across the country are on 'discussing waiting lists', unable to receive the necessary medication because they are too young or their cases are still under review. This leaves them without support as their conditions spiral out of control.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends treating ADHD in children over six with FDA-approved medications along with behavior therapy (source: AAP). Yet many doctors feel powerless to prescribe these medications due to bureaucratic red tape and stringent regulations.

We need change now. We must empower doctors with the ability to prescribe ADHD medication while children are still on discussing waiting lists - not when it's too late. If not for your own child, then sign this petition for someone you know who's suffering from this unjust system.

Please sign this petition and help us change the future of our children by allowing them access to timely treatment they desperately need.
