Most of us are lucky enough to have grown up in an area where there is a local library. It's the place where you borrow books and access the Internet. More importantly it's very often the heart of the local community, the place where children first realise the amazing world of reading, attend baby singing groups, where people search for employment, where people socialise and make new friends. Libraries are vital parts of our villages and towns. This petition has been started as Rishton library has been listed as one of the dozens of local Lancashire libraries which are facing likely closure. Whilst we acknowledge budgets are being cut we cannot loose these life lines for the young, old and the rest of us in the middle! Please sign this petition, not only for Rishton, but for all local libraries and let's make our voices heard!!
