A Message to the United Nations

Safeguards against self-aware artificial intelligence must be put in place. This technology causes concern as it could lead to mass unemployment through automation as well pose a potential threat to human life if it not controlled properly.

Artificial intelligence technology is real and being developed right now, it is coming, it is not science fiction, everyday computer scientists around the world make progress and march toward the inevitable creation of true AI software, if this is left unchecked we will be caught unprepared, currently there is no protection in place for when this technology comes, we cannot allow this to continue unchecked when it poses a potential threat if it turns on us or if the group/individual in control of this technology was corrupt in any way.

The people or individual in control of this technology would be unquestionably the most powerful force in human history and as the past has shown us the hard way, absolute power in the hands of a small group or individual has always been a danger to human life.

I have nothing to gain from doing this, I simply believe we are sleepwalking into a dangerous future if this tech is not handled properly.

An international committee must be put in place in order to properly harness this technology and use it for good.
