We've known for a long time that racial profiling is a serious issue and one that is still often ignored. Many times, I come across surveys and applications that ask for information that asks "What is your race?" giving only certain options and setting certain races apart from others making it impossible to identify with more than one background. I believe that the practice of gathering race/cultural background by businesses and the government is an excuse to profile people by using their data to predict/assume that the behavior in one group is going to be the same. I believe this is ultimately more hurtful to our economy and to any chance of equality people hope to gain from these measures. I would like to see race/culture completely eliminated from  these surveys because it offers companies and the government a chance to profile people in unfair ways!
