The Issue

Education is the cheapest defense of a nation, it helps to construct a strong nation. It must be affordable and easy to consume. As of January 2020, Pakistan vows to raise its literacy ratefrom 58% to 70% in four years by the provision of school access to approximately 22.8 million students through modern technology. Lack of education may lead to backward and poor development of a country. Education in the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan emphasis on providing free and compulsory secondary education within minimum possible period as well as the state of Pakistan shall remove illiteracy. Article 25-A stating that "The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such manner as may be determined by law."

The causes of lack of education in country include poverty, lack of facilities, gender discrimination and many more. Government policies and budget as well not supporting the education and awareness in people is the also most important. According to UNDP (United nation development programme) education must be free and it is necessary to provide education to all, the agenda of UNDP is "primary education for all". Until and unless primary education is not properly given, no country will be established. Furthermore gender discrimination is one of the basic issues of illiteracy. Education must be equal to all, the issue of child harassment cause distance from education, parents form backward areas don't want to sent their children to school.

Apart from all, government policies should take part in quality education for all in Pakistan. Prime minister Imran khan addressed about the educational system of Pakistan,  he emphasized on the syllabus of educational institutes, he said, the curricula must be same in all regions. Difference in educational system is also an issue which must be solved by the authorities. Government should check and balance in hiring staff and training should be given to faculty members.

As Quaid-e-Azam said,

"Without education it is complete darkness and with education it is light. Education is a matter of life and death to our nation. The world is moving so fast that if you do not educate yourselves you will be not only completely left behind, but will be finished up".
