Save jobs at Burnt Mill Co-operative Academy Trust in Harlow
The Issue
140 support staff members are at risk of redundancy at the Burnt Mill Co-op Academy Trust, which comprises of Burnt Mill, Forest Hall, Freshwaters Primary, Roydon Primary, Little Parndon Primary and Cooks Spinney Primary schools.
We are of the strong opinion that the cuts made will make it impossible for the Trust to deliver an acceptable level of education to the children in their care. Along with so many staff members roles being changed and having to do more work for less money, morale will drop and ‘good will’ working, that is so vital in schools, is likely to be withdrawn.
Such drastic cuts and changes to support staff working will have a huge effect on teachers and what they can deliver. This will make recruitment of teachers even more difficult than it already is and have a profound and long term effect.
These cuts are a serious concern and the information available does not indicate that they are unavoidable. We believe the impact in both the short and long term will be very destructive and felt by the whole local community, but most of all by the children.
Therefore, please sign this petition to safeguard our children's education!
