Change needs to be implemented to make our streets (crosswalks, etc) safer for our children that walk to school.  Crossing guards need to be provided especially in areas with high traffic as well as speed limits need to be lowered in order to keep our children safe.  Flashing school zone lights, speed bumps need to be placed in these areas to remind drivers to slow down and acknowledge children are highly present in these areas and police officers need to have more of a presence to slow down the careless and/or inattentive drivers.  

These changes need to be made to protect all of our children but also in cherished memory of Hunter A. Cope that tragically lost his life on March 6, 2017 at the intersection of A1A and Wonderwood Drive in Atlantic Beach on his way to school.  This is a very dangerous intersection that needs serious restructuring. I would also ask that the change be named after Hunter.
