There is a desperate need for a women's and men's shelter in Durham Region. The old post office at 47 Simcoe Street South is just taking up space. We would like the Region of Durham and/or the City of Oshawa to turn this building into a shelter. Right now the only shelters are Cornerstone and The Muslim Welfare Home. With COVID19 upon us and the closing of the Camp Samac, right before winter, there is a extreme need for this type of service.
