Gretchen Whitmer, current two-term Governor of Michigan and Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, is the best choice for President in 2024 and clearly the best option for the Democratic Party going forward against Trump in November. Vice President is a weak candidate, and our country's future depends on a strong, viable candidate this election.

Whitmer has a stellar record as Governor of Michigan, in sharp contrast to the spotty-at-best- record of Kamala Harris as DA in California and as Vice President. Whitmer is a great speaker who can energize potential new voters, Harris unfortunately lacks much sincerity at all in her messaging. We cannot afford fielding a weak candidate, and much more than that have the good fortune of many great compelling leaders in the Democratic Party– Kamala Harris is not among them.

Want to know more about Whitmer? Here's what she's done as Governor. She has spent billions to fix infrastructure in Michigan, signed a bill to legalize abortion in the state, established a scholarship program for Michiganders to get associate's degrees tuition free, closed oil pipelines to support renewable energy, expanded Medicaid in her state and much more. She supports working for Medicare for All nationally and is strongly pro-union.

Harris has, to say the least, a bad record as Attorney General in California convicting on concocted evidence and nonexistent crimes, ran a historically bad presidential campaign in 2020 falling to 3% in the polls after receiving heaps of excitement and optimism, and has nothing positive to show from her Vice Presidency.

But of course there's more to being a good candidate than just your past actions. One has to have charisma, conviction and communication skills– and, well, on that there's as little competition between the two as on their records.
