I believe phones shouldn’t be banned in schools because phones aren’t the problem. If phones are an issue, then our state wouldn’t be known for a good education. Students need their phones to contact family in case of an emergency. I know multiple cases when I was not able to reach my parents because of this law. This law would affect over thousands of children, parents, and school districts in general. It also seems a bit unfair as many years before this students were allowed to have their phones. Now students are not. I feel that if a student has their phone out during a lesson or when they have time to work on things that are due, it should be confiscated. However, if the student is finished with their work, I believe they should be allowed to choose to use their phone. All students are different and not everyone is entertained by or enjoys reading. I believe the phone law should be removed and this is why.
