Calling action against Sheru’s Killers

• Is a Dog’s life not worth anything?
• Is there no punishment for Cruelty against them, and can any Psychopath just decide to remorselessly take away the life of a voiceless without any consequences?
• Is this world still so primitive that acts of barbarism against animals still go unpunished?

                                Sadly, the answer is yes.

On 25th January 2023, a boy threw a stone at a Dog. This dog (Sheru), jumped at the boy in defense & the boy gets a little scratch by Seru's nail. 
A little later the Boy’s father along with 2 of his brothers-in-law (both named Rahul) arrived with an axe in his hand, and found Sheru Sleeping.

What does he do?
He strikes with the back of the axe fracturing Sheru’s skull. Sheru ran screaming, trying to hide behind another person (the brother of Sheru’s owner), when the boy’s father swung again, this time slitting sheru’s neck, delivering the fatal blow.
He was not still satisfied with this barbarism, because three of them then dragged Sheru’s corpse in a sack, through the temple premises, and threw him on the main road. 
This Man was Goswami Diwakar (alias Swami) who works as a cleaner and resides in the Kalkaji Temple Complex in Delhi, with other members of his family.  

Goswami even refused to tell sheru’s owner, and a few concerned others, where he threw the body. They finally found him after following the blood stains on the floor.

Delhi Police refused to file a complaint. They heckled Sheru’s owners asking about vaccination card and telling them not to create a fuss over a dog saying - Kutta he toh tha.

If the POLICE & GOVERNMENT officials have the audacity to make such statements then I don't think they are worthy of using these beautiful and loyal creatures for their security & in bomb squads.

On the 26th of January, when a few of the volunteers went to Kalkaji Mandir & visited Justice Midha’s office inside the temple and submitted a written complaint to his PA  & dialed 100 is when the PCR arrived and a formal complaint was taken however, there were 3 people involved in the murder of Sheru and yet the complaint was filed against a single individual (Goswami) by the Police. After the complaint was filed there weren't any facilities for preserving the body and even for getting the Postmortem, we had to approach Smt Maneka Gandhi for getting it done as none of the officials were cooperative & our so-called MEDIA denied any help as they wanted videos of the incident. Like seriously!

 Goswami & his wife are parents to 3-4 children already and another one is on its way & still, Goswami's wife said - My husband has just killed one dog, if it was in my hands, I'd rather kill them all. 

We all want the ABC (Animal Birth Control) programs to be in place but who is going to control the population of Humans? Especially sick-minded people like these who are spreading their bloodlines with the uttermost disgusting human behavior & even worst parenting. 

• Why the government is not looking into this matter?
• Is stray dog menace a big problem or are people like these?
• What about the rapidly increasing Human Population?
• What about the natural habitat of these voiceless that is being encroached on by the so-called human race?

Our Volunteers tried contacting the police many times, but the IO(Rameshwar) at Kalkaji Police Station has been avoiding phone calls since then.
On the 2nd of Feb, a few of our volunteers who visited the Kalkaji PS, were told that Goswami was arrested and made bail already. They refused to share any documentation for the same whatsoever. 

On 4th Feb, the IO sent us a picture of Goswami standing outside Kalkaji PS, which only seemed like a photo op. Meanwhile, Goswami's acquaintances were harassing one of the female volunteers, who had gone to Kalkaji Temple to help another dog in distress who needed immediate medical attention.

Is this how people staying & working in a Holy place are supposed to behave/act?

• Using arms openly to kill someone's pet dog.
• Threatening the people that they'll kill all the dogs.
• Harassing female volunteers when trying to help a dog in distress
• Making their videos and using profanity.
• Fearlessly roaming around and harassing the people working seamlessly for the welfare of these beings.

Today is March 2nd, 2023 and yet we haven't got any update on Sheru's case. The Delhi Police has just been stalling us from the very beginning. Goswami & his mates are freely roaming with no fear and harassing female volunteers who go to the Temple for helping the voiceless. 

People who commit such Brutality, need to be taught a lesson by our society, by our law. Such heinous acts should be penalized with severe punishment and fines. Only then can we ensure that these are not committed again.

We are still following up with the Police to act against Sheru’s Killers as a lot of things are missing in the investigation done by the IO of this case. A lot of points are missing in the FIR filed by the Kalkaji PS & are not apt at all. We will keep trying to get justice for Sheru and so many other voiceless who have become a part of this sick mentality & cruelty. WE WILL KEEP TRYING!!!
