I have just recently gone through a dissolution/divorce in Ohio. I was separated from my husband for a year and a half before it was finalized and it took so long because I had met someone else and was pregnant and the court would not finalize our dissolution because Ohio Law stated that if a woman is pregnant that child is assumed to be the legal husbands child. Even if that is not the case so I had to wait till after my child was born and I had to put my legal husbands name on the birth certificate even though this was not his baby. This law needs to change. I now have to hire an attorney to have the names changed and get a DNA test done. I know this is not his baby and he knows it I dont see why there cant be a legal form or something to fill out to get around this huge problem. Please help me try to get this law changed. Maybe this doesnt affect you but its affecting me and my child and my new husband and its not right that we all have to do this because of some stupid law.
