Disability Reform Act 2026-27

Disability Reform Act 2026-27
The Issue
When individuals with disabilities who receive SSI get married, they risk losing financial assistance and Medicaid coverage. Please contact your representative in Congress and urge support for this bill. I respect Mr. Trump. Transitioning the SSI program from cash payments to digital dollar benefits could save $90 billion annually.
Renew the ACP as the Disability Internet Act with $7.5 billion in funding, prioritizing seniors with disabilities and veterans. This approach would cost less than $17.3 billion and reduce internet bills by $15.
• Raise the SNAP benefit payable rate from $36 to $118 annually.
• If society desires for individuals with disabilities to enter into marriage, it should or prehaps also support their health and welfare.
• The SNAP program ought to be expanded to include hygiene items such as haircuts, soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent.
• Bridge the gap in employment and education for individuals with disabilities.
• Develop and improve apprenticeship and pre-employment training programs tailored for people with disabilities to help them build skills and gain valuable experience.
• Uphold existing laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act, while also proposing new legislation such as the PRO Act to enhance worker protections.
• Offer tax breaks or additional perks to companies that employ UBI recipients, making sure that they have access to workplace adjustments and flexible scheduling.
• Create centralized hubs where people can apply for UBI, receive job training, access healthcare, and obtain social services in a single place, streamlining the process and reducing administrative complexity.
• Implement tax incentives or other advantages for employers hiring SSI recipients, ensuring that workplace modifications and adaptable hours are provided.
I believe the SSI program should transition to a digital dollar tied to the minimum wage, providing $1,718 to individuals and $3,436 to couples
Regulations also need updating so people with disabilities do not lose benefits when receiving assistance from other agencies. The SSA’s classification of this support as unearned income creates unnecessary barriers.
I passionately urge Congress to implement these necessary updates. Additionally, Section 8 should be discontinued for able-bodied adults after two years and instead be redirected to support disabled individuals.
https://youtu.be/yVdnvQsKyUs?si=k_k9BaGL9Nn9wHNj How I feel about seeing others have what i can not have.
I proposed a plan to digitize retirement benefits like SSI and SSDI and introduce a basic income system, restricting benefits to disabled individuals only. This could halve the number of Medicaid workers, requiring disabled individuals to confirm their eligibility through an online portal annually or biennially.
You need to submit a drug test every 6 months. If you fail, you will lose access to Digital EBT and Digital Basic Income. These funds should be used to pay your Section 8 rent, and any leftover money can be used for personal expenses.
I urge Congress to make these changes. In addition, Section 8 assistance for able-bodied adults should end after two years, with resources redirected to support individuals with disabilities.
This penalty unfairly targets individuals with disabilities, making them choose between necessary support and marrying their loved ones. This practice is unjust and discriminatory.
• We, together with individuals with disabilities, believe that the marriage penalty is both unfair and ineffective.
• Those with low incomes deserve equal rights and opportunities, just like all other individuals.
• The current system discourages marriage and family formation by penalizing those who wish to join with a partner, which can prevent individuals from marrying or starting a family, ultimately impacting their quality of life and the well-being of any future children they may desire.
• By eliminating this penalty, individuals and families receiving government assistance can marry without the worry of losing essential financial support.
• This adjustment will help guarantee that people can form loving, supportive relationships and care for their families without facing government penalties.
• Sign this petition to promote fairness and equality for all low-income individuals in our nation. Together, we can ensure that love and commitment are not punished, allowing all families to receive the support they need to flourish.
Thank you for your support.
