Matt Huffman, born in 1960, is a prominent American politician and lawyer affiliated with the Republican Party. He has been serving as a member of the Ohio Senate for the 12th district since 2017 and has held the position of Ohio Senate President since 2021. His district encompasses Allen, Champaign, Mercer, and Shelby counties, along with parts of Auglaize, Darke, and Logan counties. Huffman previously served as an Ohio State Representative from 2007 to 2014 and was the Majority Floor Leader of the Ohio Senate from 2019 to 2021. Academically, he holds a JD from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor's degree in American Government and Politics from the University of Notre Dame, and a high school diploma from Lima Central Catholic High School. Additionally, he has been a managing member at Huffman Kelly Brock Gottschalk, LLC and served on the executive committee at the Assembly of State Legislatures.
