I am one among many who have fallen victim to scams on Depop. In a span of just one month, I personally lost approximately $500 due to fraudulent listings. Upon investigation, it alarmingly came to light that hundreds like me have been similarly deceived through fake listings or profiles on Depop.  Buyers have not only been paying the fees to Depop but have also, unknowingly, been funding such scams. 

Depop, has, thus far, been providing little to no protection and quality checks for buyers, thereby facilitating such deceptions. While online scams aren't uncommon, it's disturbing that Depop appears to foster these by not putting in place robust safeguards. Given the magnitude of the issue and the financial losses incurred by numerous unsuspecting users like myself, it's high time that Depop improves its protection and quality measures.

The absence of such mechanisms harms the trust of users and tarnishes the reputation of Depop. The funding from user fees must be used to ensure a safe shopping experience. Bigger platforms like eBay and Amazon have found ways to balance user experience with security - there's no reason Depop should lag behind.

I, therefore, urge you to take immediate action and improve the purchase protection measures on Depop, providing a safer online shopping environment for all of us. Let us stand together to put an end to these avoidable financial losses.
