With the rapid increase in the number of divorces happening in the country, it is absolutely vital to aid divorced women so they can sustain themselves financially, for they lack the support of a husband and even their own families who force them to continue living in abusive marriages.

Many divorced women have not even received a proper education in the past due to which they continue to live their lives in drudgery. Even educated women, many of whom are also single mothers, face acute problems in their workplaces and struggle to raise their children properly due to lack of financial stability in their careers, gender bias and pay parity, not to mention the social stigma they need to face from the society every waking hour of their lives. 

There have been made ample provisions to support Dalits and other reserved castes, sportspersons and differently-abled people in the past. Even widows of ex-servicemen are liable to certain compensation. So, I truly believe that divorced women in the country should be aided to the maximum, and providing them with reservations in central and state government jobs will not only help secure the future of millions of women and enable better upbringing of their progeny, but also provide adequate confidence to women to leave abusive marriages, study hard and write exams for coveted government jobs with the solid belief that there are greener pastures waiting for them.
