The Afghan hero who saved Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell from the Taliban is now seeking asylum in the United States. Mohammed Gulab took the wounded SEAL into his Afghan village and protected him, risking his life and the lives of his family members. The story of Luttrell and Gulab has been made popular in the film "Lone Survivor."

However, he and his family have since had to go into hiding because of death threats from the Taliban.

Gulab is now seeking asylum in the United States, but many different agencies will have to sign off on that. His attorney has been able to move him and some of his family to an undisclosed country for the time being.

The Department of Homeland Security will ultimately make the decision as to whether or not to grant Gulab asylum. DHS is not commenting on the case.
