It is clear that Bernie Sanders is not now nor has he ever been loyal to the Democratic party. He has used our resources to launch a full frontal attack on the party at large. He has stated thousands of times that his goal is to tear down the "Democratic Party Establishment." Since our party has fought so hard to establish so many progressive values as the law of the land, we as Democrats are rather fond of our Establishment and would like to protect it from interlopers with ill intentions. 

His attacks on the character, credibility and integrity of the party and it's members - the people we as Democrats voted into office - have created a demonizing narrative among his followers that is toxic. He has handed Donald Trump numerous soundbites we are already hearing repeated. His actions will do nothing to bring a revolution (which we'd rather not have actually - those tend to be messy and long) but will certainly afford the GOP a huge advantage in the general election. 

His unwillingness to support down ticket candidates other than those he has cherry picked further demonstrates his lack of loyalty and is a rather remarkable display of arrogance.  One of the three candidates he initially endorsed and raised funds for independently of the party is running for Washington State's 7th District - a seat that has been held by a Democrat since 1979. This was clearly not a move to help the party regain control of the house but rather a sterling example of how very unconcerned he is with the welfare of the party as a whole, and by extension, our country.

His campaign has filed several legal actions against the party, none of which having an ounce of merit. He is draining our resources as well as sullying our reputation among under-informed new voters and swing voters. It is clear that his intention is only to do harm to the party and anyone in it who does not see in him the leader that this country needs. 

His followers have made threats against several members of our party and his answer to that was "the DNC had it coming to them?" This response is not one of a leader looking to unite the party, but that of an abusive husband. 

While it is not possible or democratic to remove him from the ballot, we respectfully ask that his membership from our party be revoked and all access to party resources be stopped immediately. Many of us donate directly to the party and do not wish for our contributions to help him in his mission to destroy what we have worked so hard to build.
