I am just one of the many victims of YouTube's lackadaisical moderation policies. My personal and embarrassing videos, which I posted during my immature years without understanding the ramifications, have been circulated and ridiculed, causing me substantial emotional distress. This has led me to the realization that countless others might be undergoing the same torment, being victims of cyber-bullying due to YouTube turning a blind eye towards inappropriate content. Therefore, I am urging everyone to take a stand against this.

Inappropriate video content on YouTube is a global issue. A report by The Guardian in 2017 indicated uneven moderation practices, leading to a large volume of offensive and explicit content being present on the platform. YouTube's policies need to be revised such that they better protect individuals from unwarranted exposure and humiliation.

Let this petition be our voice. Let it reach the decision-makers at YouTube and trigger comprehensive changes in their content moderation practices. Stricter regulations and proactive removal of inappropriate content need to be implemented. A machine learning algorithm, for instance, can be used to review and flag explicit contents for human moderators' further scrutiny.

Most importantly, YouTube should acknowledge and respect the personal rights of its users to request the removal of any content featuring them without their current consent. This simple measure will spare many from the harrowing ordeal I faced.
