The Issue

As a dedicated YouTube content creator, I have been facing an ongoing issue that is affecting not just me, but also my loyal subscribers. My subscribers are consistently reporting that they are not receiving notifications for new content, despite being subscribed and having notifications turned on. Additionally, the view counts following live streams do not align with the information provided during the stream itself.

This issue goes beyond just my channel. It's estimated that at least 20% of all YouTube subscribers face similar notification issues. This discrepancy is causing significant harm to creators who rely on accurate data for their hard work and dedication.

I have contacted Youtube many times to get help with this issue to no avail. There have been many instances over the last 3 years as the matter got worse and I pointed it out to receive generic responses.

YouTube's current lack of progressive response or investigation into these inconsistencies undermines its commitment to provide a reliable platform for creators and viewers alike. We need transparency from this platform which has become a primary source of education and entertainment for millions around the globe.

We urge YouTube to conduct an in-depth investigation into these notification discrepancies and view count inaccuracies, ensuring fair treatment for all its users. Please sign this petition if you believe in supporting creators' rights to accurate data on their own content.

I have attached two pictures from my most recent live stream showing the view discrepancy. Unless something has changed with how their system operates over they years, you will see that the number of views do not add up to what was posted after the stream.

In past years, the number of people who clicked into the livestream and the concurrent viewers are factored into the views after the stream is posted.

You will see in the 3rd pic only 30 minutes after the stream ended views from notifications are 4.4%. Youtube creator support has told me that people are getting notifications but aren't clicking. Only 4.4% of subscribers are receiving notifications. The 1.5k views is also not apparent on the video itself as seen in the fourth screen shot.

The screenshots provided are from April 1, 2024 and I have many others to back this claim.

If you support your favorite content creators and want to bring awareness to this issue please sign the petition. Gratitude.
