Demand United States Government: Restrict/Limit AI usage, Save jobs!

The Issue

As a resident of the United States, I am deeply concerned about the recent, ongoing trend of companies pushing for AI to replace us humans. AI, or artificial intelligence, can be a useful tool if used responsibly, like speeding up tasks in airports, researching facts, fixing poor grammar, enhancing media quality, being used as CPU in games, or translating languages, but it's often used in a detrimental way.

Many companies are pushing to try to replace AI with humans, such as generating AI content/media, pushing for AI to take human's jobs, AI-tools for creating media, and more. AI in the first place was intended to mostly eliminate the difficulties in our lives, not replace us entirely.

When AI was first popularized back in the 1980s, it was mainly intended to eliminate the difficulties in our lives (as I said before), and help us grow with our human-made content. Fast forward to 2022 onwards, and AI is now being used to replace literally everything. That's contradictory to what it was intended for, and that's not okay.

Because many humans are being replaced with AI, not only that AI tends to be inaccurate, but it can also make hundreds of people lose jobs. That's very sad, and is not supposed to happen.

AI is also notorious for being bad for the environment (as AI tends to use Ethereum, which is harmful to the sky).

Humans have been doing most tasks (e.g. writing art, doing chores/jobs, etc.) for centuries, and we CANNOT let that change.

I, and others, are calling, that the United States implement new laws against AI, this means that:

  1. Implement heavy restrictions surrounding AI and it's usage, to try to respect jobs, and we can help employment rates rise.
  2. Demand that Internet websites (including social media websites and forums) either ban AI-generated content, or at the very least, they can put AI-generated content until additional scrutiny, being reviewed by human staff of that website.
  3. Make it illegal for AI-generated content to be copyrighted (and monetized).
  4. Only allow AI to be monetized if it's about a useful tool that respects jobs (not about making AI-generated media, about a tool to eliminate hardness).
  5. Make movies/video games largely (or even fully) made by AI illegal; all work should be required to atleast have some human interaction within them.
  6. Fine companies for failing to follow with the law.
  7. Try to keep a balance between human jobs and AI, so AI can be used responsibly as a useful tool, but at the same time, employment rates can skyrocket and we can save others' jobs.
  8. And in case of developing AI-related technology, people must be over 18 years old to do so (Minors will have heavy restrictions surrounding AI.)

These new laws surrounding AI should effect:

  1. ALL forms of companies (including restaurants, social media, Internet, video games, hotels, amusement parks, schools/education, technology, etc.) and have them fined if they fail to follow the laws properly.
  2. Biased media that encourages the spread of AI to replace hundreds of jobs.
  3. Media largely or even fully made by AI (including art, videos, images, text, movies, games, music, etc.) (This does NOT apply to media where AI is used to fix a few small errors, or enhance the quality of the media.)
  4. School assignments, lessons, quizzes, and tests written by AI
  5. AI-related chatbots (not all of them, but this includes ones like Facebook's AI chat, for example)
  6. Driveless cars
  7. Cashierless registers (if they rely on AI)
  8. AI-generated media (including on streaming platforms, social media, and any Internet website in general)
  9. Companies that try to double down AI and try to make it the new standard (including YouTube, Google, Spotify, etc. that have made malicious practices to push AI more and force everyone to use it)
  10. AI development companies and companies that rely on AI (Put strict laws surrounding most of them)

And these new laws should NOT effect (and the following below should be allowed as exceptions):

  1. AI being used to enhance and remove difficulties on the Internet (e.g. fixing poor grammar, enhancing media quality, translating languages, researching certain facts, etc.)
  2. Being used as a CPU in video games
  3. Being used to speed up tasks in public places, such as airports
  4. AI being used to help be part of live-saving technology in vehicles (e.g. airplanes, boats, cars, etc.)

We want the USA to care, and we all want to care about the future of the Internet and other industries such as the TV, film, movie, and video game industry. AI can be a useful tool, but it cannot replace everyone as their jobs. Sign this if you care about job employment and the dangerous effects of AI.
