Just like many others, the graduates of 2025 are students who were robbed of a traditional high school graduation and prom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are looking forward, with hope and anticipation, to culminate our university journey with a convocation ceremony, ideally held outdoors, to honor our hard work and persistence. This isn't just about walking across a stage; it's about celebrating our achievements in the face of adversity. Outdoor ceremonies have been a long-standing tradition and an integral part of the graduation experience at Trent University, and continuing this tradition for the Class of 2025 is crucial.

We humbly ask the university administration to consider and reflect on our request. We have persevered through challenging circumstances, but now we urge Trent University to allow us the opportunity to celebrate our victories in the way we deserve – outdoors, amongst our fellow graduates and faculty. We propose that the outdoor ceremony be held on the Justin Chu Field offering accessibility and seating.  Please sign this petition to support our fight for an outdoor convocation for the Class of 2025 at Trent University.
