Demand Transparency and Accountability within Kenya's Government

The Issue

As a citizen that holds a degree and is currently experiencing first-hand the crippling effect of unemployment, I no longer wish to overlook the undying corruption and lackadaisical practices within our government. Our country, Kenya, endows high-ranking positions like the Chief Secretary in charge of mining to individuals whose qualifications remain questionable. This not only promotes corruption but it also undermines the hard work and academic dedication of individuals, like me, who have strived to equip themselves acadically.

The world is watching as Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index ranks Kenya at an alarming 124 out of 180 in 2020, indicating a high level of corruption. The persistence of this corruption has created an unbearable conundrum that hinders the growth and prosperity of our citizens and the nation at large.

Our President's role in fostering a transparent and accountable government remains paramount to our national progress. For this reason, we demand that he takes definitive actions to mitigate corruption or gracefully step down from his position for the good of Kenya's future.

Join me in demanding fairness, integrity, and justice. Let us all sign this petition to insist on immediate changes in our government to invest in its people’s future rather than unjust practices. Let us ensure the perseverance of every Kenyan and everyone who calls Kenya home will be rewarded, not ignored or exploited.
