As a concerned Nigerian citizen, I am deeply troubled by the recent statements made by our Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu. Instead of focusing on improving and expanding our power supply, he has suggested that Nigerians should turn off freezers and air conditioners to conserve energy. This advice is not only impractical but also shows a lack of understanding and empathy towards the plight faced by millions in our country.

Over 100 million Nigerians currently live without electricity. Yet, instead of addressing this dire issue with urgency and competence, our minister chooses to grant interviews displaying his ignorance. The role of a minister is to serve the people's needs; however, it seems Mr. Adelabu has forgotten this fundamental duty.

The time for change is now; we can no longer afford to have leaders who are out-of-touch with reality at the helm. We need someone who understands the gravity of Nigeria's power situation and will take decisive action rather than offering band-aid solutions.
