Demand the BBC to Stop Repeat Programmes and Abolish TV Licence

Demand the BBC to Stop Repeat Programmes and Abolish TV Licence
The Issue
I am one of the millions frustrated with the continuous repeat programmes on the BBC. It's disappointing to switch on my television only to find films and programs, like Casablanca from the 1940s and Grease from the 1970s, being aired for the umpteenth time. It's not just these classic films, but a barrage of other content that we've seen over and over again. What makes this deeply unsettling is the fact that we're paying for our TV licences, but receive nothing new in return.
Several of the BBC channels repeat more than two-thirds of their programmes. According to a 2014 analysis by The Times, BBC2 repeated 66% of its answers in the same year (The Times, 2016). It's about time we demand value for our money, especially in cash-strapped times like these.
We are requesting the BBC to improve their programming and present an array of fresh and engaging content. Furthermore, considering the proliferation of other, more diverse streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, it's high time the BBC consider the obliteration of the TV licence fee.
Let's bring an end to paying for repeat performances. Sign this petition to demand the BBC provide us with new content and abolish the TV Licence fee.
