Demand the ABC drop Grace Tame from taxpayer-funded podcasts
The issue
As concerned citizens, it is our duty to ensure that taxpayer money is used responsibly and equitably. Recently, Grace Tame has been identified as making firm and public declarations against the Jewish community. This is a matter of significant concern, as our society should be striving towards inclusivity and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background or beliefs.
My son has autism, and I applaud anyone bringing attention to the struggles and victories of the family and the neurodivergent individual. Surely though well known people on the spectrum such as Time Sharp, Chloe Hayden and Ella Purdy who do not embrace conflict and racism would be better choices.
The ABC, being a national broadcaster funded by taxpayer money, has a responsibility to uphold values that support inclusivity and harmony. It is therefore alarming to see someone like Grace Tame, who has publicly opposed a part of our diverse community, being given a platform through taxpayer-funded resources.
The Jewish community, like any other group, deserves respect and should not be subject to discrimination or bias. Allowing Grace Tame a voice through national platforms may indirectly validate her statements and could potentially harm the very fabric of a multicultural society that Australia prides itself on.
We understand the importance of diverse opinions and free speech. However, the use of public funds should reflect our values as a society of equality, inclusivity, and tolerance. The ABC should take immediate action to ensure that the platforms it provides are not used to promote division or discrimination.
By signing this petition, we call on the ABC to take a firm stance and discontinue any association with Grace Tame in taxpayer-funded podcasts. Let us come together to ensure our public resources promote unity and respect for all communities. Please sign this petition and help us make a difference in supporting an inclusive Australia.
