As an illustration student at Staffordshire University, I can attest to the invaluable expertise that Gary Dickson provided. His knowledge and skills are irreplaceable and cannot be matched by any other member of staff. Part of my decision to choose this university was due to the specialist team, people like Gary who fill the gaps in our education - an education we invest heavily in. I am not alone in this sentiment; his loss is felt across the entire department and beyond. As a student ambassador who has helped out at open days in my final year, I have mentioned Gary as one of the reasons why students should choose this university, a promise that will now not be met, a promise that was met with enthusiasm by prospective student’s. 

Gary was instrumental for courses such as illustration and comic arts among many others. His redundancy leaves a void that will impact not only current students but also future year groups who will miss out on his unique contributions.

We urge Staffordshire University to reconsider their decision and reinstate Gary Dickson, acknowledging his value for both present students and those yet to come. We believe that retaining him is crucial for maintaining the high quality of education offered by our institution.
