The Issue

Recent public records and sworn filings — including a felony arrest report, protective orders, and court declarations — have revealed serious allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence involving a member of the Emmerson family, leaders of Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI). These are not rumors; they come directly from sworn testimony and police reports. In a sworn petition for a restraining order, the survivor wrote: • “I told him to stop, and said no to his advances. He then pulled me back and forcefully inserted his penis inside of me. He immediately ejaculated.” • “He became verbally abusive and told me I was triggering his past trauma because a girl in law school accused him of raping her.” In the Sacramento Police arrest report (June 24, 2025), officers documented: • “Victim showed officers visible swelling and a possible small contusion on her left arm.” • “Based on my investigation, I determined Suspect Emmerson was the primary aggressor.” • “S-Emmerson was subsequently transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail (SCMJ).” The arrest resulted in a felony charge of PC 273.5(a) — domestic violence, corporal injury to spouse/cohabitant. An Emergency Protective Order was granted for the survivor and her child. The report also states: “V wished to remain anonymous for the public record.” Despite this, an SPI employee representative disclosed the survivor’s identity publicly on a community forum — raising serious questions about whether SPI leadership may have shared sensitive information internally. In a separate Elk Grove Police report (Aug 19, 2025), regarding an alleged violation of the restraining order, officers wrote: • “Confrontational, argumentative, and dismissive throughout the investigation.” • “Based on my investigation, I am requesting charges be filed for violation of a domestic violence restraining order (PC 273.6).” Despite these serious findings and repeated outreach, Sierra Pacific Industries has issued no public response. Our Call to Action We, the undersigned, urge Sierra Pacific Industries to: • Publicly affirm a zero-tolerance policy toward sexual assault and domestic violence within their company and leadership. • Implement transparent policies and reporting mechanisms to prevent and address misconduct. • Support survivors and promote safe, respectful environments for all employees and community members.
