We, the undersigned, join together in an urgent call to protect and preserve the Kokborok language, an integral part of our cultural heritage, and advocate for the adoption of the Roman script to facilitate better education for Tiprasa students.

 

Kokborok, the indigenous language of the Tripuri people, has thrived for generations as a symbol of our identity, history, and shared values. However, the rapid onslaught of globalization and a lack of concerted efforts to promote indigenous languages have posed an existential threat to the survival of Kokborok.

Therefore, we demand the following actions to safeguard Kokborok and ensure a better educational experience for Tiprasa students:

Adequate resources, funding, and support must be allocated to develop and implement programs that focus on preserving and promoting the language.

 

2. Introduction of Roman script: We advocate for the incorporation of the Roman script as an alternative writing system for Kokborok. This shift will alleviate the challenges faced by Tiprasa students and enhance their ability to learn and communicate effectively in their mother tongue.
