Demand Resignation of Kenya's President for Human Rights Violations

Demand Resignation of Kenya's President for Human Rights Violations
The Issue
In the heart of Africa, Kenya is being suffocated by the hands of its leader, President William Ruto. As a young Kenyan, I have witnessed this slow decline into despair incredulously. I've felt the growing pressure of over-taxation while juggling underpayment and overwork. I have watched helplessly as grand corruption runs rampant, as our public coffers are depleted, as borrowing spirals out of control, ethnic discrimination festers and the stain of nepotism tarnishes job opportunities– all under the watch of the president.
Our dear country, once revered for its resilience and innovation, has been turned into a hotbed of injustice. It's time to hold accountable those who are perverting the promise of our national motto "Harambee", meaning "all pull together" in Swahili. In Kenya, we do pull together. But the president and his allies are not with us.
Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index 2023 lists Kenya as the 126th out of 180 countries, indicating a serious problem with corruption. The Human Rights Watch World Report 2023 highlights that Kenyan security forces continue to excessively use force with impunity, contravening basic human principles. Enough is enough.
This petition does not merely aim to hold the president to account, but to envision a Kenya where integrity and fairness pervade, where every citizen including myself can enjoy a dignified future, free from the heavy ties of systemic oppression. It's time we tear down these barriers to fair opportunities and insist on a leadership that upholds the values of honesty, justice, and the collective prosperity of all Kenyans. Therefore, I'm demanding the resignation of the President for these flagrant human rights violations.
Join me in calling for change. Join me in breathing life back into our beautiful nation, free from the clutches of despondency that currently grip it. Sign this petition today. Your signature today is a promise of a better, just Kenya tomorrow.
