The Issue

In Dawes County, Nebraska, a horrifying case of animal cruelty is coming to light. Rancher Dillon McGannon is facing 56 felony charges after investigators discovered dozens of dead cows and a shot puppy on his property.

According to court records, McGannon allegedly left 56 cattle confined in pens for months without food or water, leading to mass starvation and dehydration. A veterinarian determined the animals had likely been dead for more than three months. This was not an accident—it was long-term, deliberate neglect.

Even worse, McGannon is also accused of shooting a woman’s puppy and sending her images of the dead dog along with threatening messages.

This level of cruelty must be met with serious consequences.

We are calling on the Dawes County District Court and prosecutors to pursue the maximum sentence allowed under Nebraska law if McGannon is convicted.

No plea deals. No reduced charges. This was systematic suffering on an appalling scale.

Justice for these animals means ensuring their suffering is never repeated—and that those responsible are held fully accountable.

Sign this petition to demand the court take animal cruelty seriously and deliver real justice for the 56 cows, the puppy, and every voiceless creature harmed.
