In the US as of 2017 about 10 people a day are drowning, 2 of these victims on average is under the age of 14. In Indiana alone retention pond drownings make up at least 7% of drownings in the state. 

In the last couple of weeks we have lost a 4 year old child because she wandered into a retention pond and drowned. One child is too many. And we've seen lives lost over and over because of the simple lack of barriers. A life is worth more than the cost of a fence. Indiana children deserve every opportunity at life. Keep them safe. 

Our State Representatives have not listened to Hoosiers for a long time. We have a voice. We can use it every day. Start small and work our way up.
