I'm a 12-year medically retired combat veteran. After serving my country through 3 deployments to Afghanistan, earning my benefits through blood, sweat, and tears, I cannot stand to see a billionaire and his cronies scheming to cut what is rightfully ours. Doug Collins, current Secretary of the Veterans Affairs (V.A), was recently exposed attempting to fast-track austerity measures that would severely detriment all veterans. These reductions spanned far and wide, threatening our access to cancer care and toxic exposure screening.

Collins arrogantly stated: “No more paying consultants to do things like make PowerPoint slides and write meeting minutes!” His dismissive words show clear ignorance of our needs and absolutes disrespect for our service. This "man" has proven that he is unfit to represent us and should be immediately removed from his position.

Over 18 million veterans depend on the V.A for various medical, disability, education, and vocational services. The efficient operation of this agency directly influences the quality of life of millions of veterans like myself. We fought for this country; we shouldn't have to fight for our advantages.

We urge each and every one of you to stand with us in this fight for justice. Establish that veterans' benefits should never be undermined or compromised for bureaucratic convenience.
