Havant Borough Council has recently imposed a disproportionate increase of 50% in the Beach Hut Licence and Rental fee for local residents. This is a significant jump from the formerly drafted rate of 1.7%, reflecting the CPI of September 2024. In addition to being a shock to residents, this increase appears to be out of line with other fees and charges levied by the council. 

Such a sudden and considerable increase with no prior warning is unfair. A justification from Havant Borough Council for this sudden change and a return to the previously agreed-upon rate is not just necessary for transparency, but it is vital for maintaining the trust of the local community.
