The residents of Makhasa Village in Ward 22, Malamulele, South Africa, are urgently calling on the Vhembe District municipality to address the persistent problem of access to clean drinking water in our community. Despite numerous pleas, we are still without a reliable source of clean water. The situation is grave, as clean water is a fundamental necessity for everyday life - for drinking, cooking, hygiene, and overall health. Owing to this problem, community members are at a higher risk of waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid. We mandate the municipality to prioritize and take swift action in ensuring provision of a dependable and clean drinking water source for our village. We can no longer afford to neglect this essential resource. It is our right as residents to access clean water, and it is the duty of our municipality to provide such. Attention to this pressing issue will improve the quality of life in our village and preserve the health and wellbeing of our community.
