During Pride Month, I was frustrated by an unjust decision made by Deviantart — a platform that claims to support the LGBTQ+ community. My friend, known by the username as Hayley566, shared her   wholesome art about celebrating LGBTQ+ people. But for some reason, Deviantart staff labeled her submissions with a mature tag after some homophobic users reported the artwork.

The artworks were not mature in the slightest, and were just about representations and acceptance. When the homophobes first reported her art as mature, Hayley566 tried to get deviantart staff to help undo the report, but much to Hayley566’s horror—the deviantart staff sided with the homophobes and forcefully labeled her pride month and lgbt art as mature. What’s worse is that it happened during pride month of all things. 

And so that’s why I started this petition in hopes of getting deviantart to undo their homophobic actions and remove the mature labeling off of the wholesome pride month and lgbt art. It’s not just about my friend, Hayley566, it’s about fighting against the censorship on lgbt art.
