Demand Brisbane Council to Enforce Painting of the Retaining Wall at Sanctuary Residences

The issue

Our Forest Lake suburb is an emblem of beauty and serenity. We wear its green hues as a symbol of our unity and shared love for our environment. However, a new development at 157 Sanctuary Drive is threatening to tarnish the aesthetic of our suburb. A new retaining wall, part of the Sanctuary Residences project, has been erected at the corner of Wadeville Street and Sanctuary Drive - a prominent entrance to our suburb. Whilst the colour scheme of surrounding walls and our entire suburb are various shades of green, this retaining wall is unpainted and stands out, disrupting our harmonious green view. The council has refused to require the developer to paint the wall, leaving it an eye sore for everyone.

If we let this slide, there may be a precedent set for future developments, potentially leading to a domino effect of disregarding our suburb's natural aesthetics. We should take pride in our surroundings and ensure that the character and beauty of Forest Lake is preserved. It is more than just an aesthetic issue, it's about preserving the integrity of our community.

We call on the Councillor Emily Kim and the Brisbane City Council to enforce the painting of the wall in accordance with the rest of the suburb and uphold the standards of our green suburb. Please sign this petition to make our voices heard, and ensure our green, beautiful Forest Lake remains untarnished.
