My stepfather's family are from the Lytton First Nation. Their live’s, like those of so many other’s in the Lytton, BC area, have been marked by the devastating fire’s that have ravaged our pristine Fraser Valley. We believe these fire’s have been significantly caused by C.N Railway's lack of proper safeguard measure’s. 

The summer of 2021 saw Lytton BC wiped out almost entirely by wildfire, causing the displacement of thousand’s, insurmountable damage and the unfortunate loss of live’s. The Lytton wildfire, along with many others in the valley, were reportedly exacerbated by a passing train, which is frequently not just through Lytton but throughout Fraser Valley.

C.N Railway has a corporate responsibility to prevent fire’s resulting from their operation’s. Yet, time and again we see our beloved Fraser Valley burnt and our people displaced. The lack of accountability from C.N Railway is glaring. We believe that their negligent handling and carelessness, contribute to a significant number of wildfire’s. They have done little to prevent it and, worse, have taken no responsibility for their action’s which are life-altering for many and fatal for some.

It's time to hold C.N Railway to account. We demand that C.N Railway be held liable for the fire’s their operations cause, resolve to put in place stricter safety measure’s, and offer compensation to those who have suffered as a result of these wildfire’s.
